I recently purchased this unit as a replacement for a failed Nuwave Titanium. My observation to this point is that it is a superior unit in terms of actual power as well as heat holding ability at set temperature.I gave it only 4 stars because the top is very slick and pans tend to move easily compared to the more matte texture of the Nuwave, but in terms of quick heating and temp accuracy this seems to best the Nuwave on both accounts.I've used induction for nearly a year and really like its flexibility. The fan noise on this unit is comparable with the Nuwave, but the fact that it runs after the unit is turned off to actually cool the unit down like a higher price unit tells me the system should last longer than the nine months that the Nuwave did. FYI, be sure to buy a Nuwave from someone they deem an "authorized dealer" no matter how big the name, because if you don't they will refuse to honor their warranty. This unit will power down to 100 degrees and chocolate melting was one thing that induction does really well unless your until will not go below 140F as so many will not.We have a full set of tri ply stainless and various cast iron, both plain and enameled, and these units work well with any of those types of pans or skillets. Now to upgrade my popcorn pan to stainless since this unit basically is "my" unit as my wife still prefers the stove unless she is making chocolate candy then suddenly it's hers. I use the units outdoors for frying fish and for boiling vegetables and shrimp as well as normal stuff I like to prepare inside from braising pork to a simple breakfast. It does as advertised and in today's world....that's a pleasant surprise.Appears to be a very solid unit and the upgrade from DUXTOP's prior units as evidenced by the wider controlled temperatures.( I came back after two weeks of use and raised the stars from 4 to 5. Nothing is perfect, but this does everything that one would think an inexpensive unit would or should do. I've cooked in both the temp mode when temps were critical and in power modes when low, med, and high and anything in between was all that was needed. I have used cast iron, trip ply, and non stick with an induction plate attached and it worked fine with all three sets up. Just remember that once up to temp the power on these can be cut was back. I boiled corn for an example beginning with the "boil" setting until boiling began, inserted the corn and watched the boiling stop due to the cool corn, but as soon as the water boiled again with corn in it, I switched to temp mode and set the temp to 220 and it boiled nicely for 9 more minutes until the timer turned it off just as I asked for. For the money it is very good and as such I couldn't ask for more out of a unit of this price thus the 5.)

My only regret is not getting a bigger one. It is so fast. I hardly ever use my gas built in anymore. It's easy to clean, easy to put away. I made a video because it does make noise but I honestly don't mind it. I've watched some YouTube videos on how to cook with stainless steel and that's helped just in general. My Lodge cast iron12" skillet works on it also. I love it!

After watching lots of videos, I decided to purchase this little induction countertop before going for a whole stove. It has taken a few months of using it 2-4 times per week, but I absolutely love this little cooktop. I usually not have it set to 4, 4 out of 10, so I presume that means 40%. I'm still looking for the perfect skillet. I may buy another one if these countertops rather than invest $5000 in a stove. Great buy.

This is a handy little burner. Half of my pans already work with it (you can tell by testing with a magnet.) I like how it stops heating as soon as the pan is lifted off and how it stays cool except for right under the pan. I haven't tried the temperature feature, but I like the idea of the burner lowering power on its own as the cast iron heats up.Press the Power On and then the Menu button to get started right away with Level 5 then quick taps raise or lower the setting by one half tick. Easy to use.The fan is not objectionable and it doesn't make other noises aside from helpful beeps.Notice the area of boiling water in the large pan, this burner works better for smaller pans as the heating is very localized to right over the element.I got this mostly as a backup for when my range inevitably breaks so it won't hurt so much to wait the months it will probably take to get a new one. So far I like it a lot and I think it will be useful, especially in the hot summer.

I have a very small kitchen. I bought a countertop oven which I use 99.9% of the time. My regular oven is now a cabinet for pots and pans. I then realized that I never use more than one burner at a time on my stovetop. So I moved the countertop oven on top of the stovetop and placed this Duxtop induction burner next to it. I freed up precious counter space by doing so.The Duxtop took some getting used to. The more I learn about how to use it, the more I like it. Only one cheap frying pan didn't work on it. I replaced it with an inexpensive one made for induction. My enameled Dutch ovens, cast iron cookware, and other frying pans work well.Water about an inch or so deep in a 10-inch frying pan boiled in about 1 minute. A 3.8 quart enameled Dutch oven that I use to boil bagels, filled with about 3 quarts of very hot tap water, took 10 minutes to boil. One issue I had was the unit just turning off. Very frustrating when you're in the middle of boiling bagels. Totally an operator error. You must set the time past the default. The default timer for the boil function is 10 minutes. To get around this, push the timer button. The 00 for minutes flashes first. You can set this up to 59 minutes. If you want an hour or more, wait for the 00 to stop flashing and the 0 to start flashing. Now you can set the timer for up to 10 hours. Pressing the minutes past 59 minutes does not jump to hours. Took me way too long to figure this out.It gets hot fast. Learning to control the temperature takes time. If you want to simmer something, for example, it may take some experimentation to figure out what setting works best. You have to go through this with any new stovetop. I successfully simmered down a 3.8 quart Dutch oven filled with chili Colorado for about 2-3 hours with no problems. I occasionally had to adjust the temperature up or down. I've had to do this with any stovetop.I absolutely love this induction burner. It's easy to clean too. Highly recommended.

Simplicity combined with speed, safety and pre-set functions; such as "BOIL", KEEP WARM" and "LOCK" provide flexibility and control. I put 2 Duxtop LCD Portable Induction Cooktop Burners side by side on top of my range for everyday use. I seldom have to use my regular burners except perhaps Christmas , and other larger meal cooking. They also serve as the "Extra Burner" to keep thing warm at POT LUCK Parties. Over all very happy with these Induction Cooktop Burners and would definetly purchase again.
